Something Here |
Nathan Johnson has been playing guitar since childhood, but he didn't find his songwriting voice until moving to the rugged, high desert region of Colorado's front range. Today, his style blends narrative folk with a darker Americana sound in songs that feel unearthed more than written, grounded by a steady heartbeat of intricate acoustic guitar work.
His lyrics are emotionally intimate and often full of prosaic imagery, merging lived experiences, folklore, and deeper spiritual realities. Don't worry if you don't always know what they're about; he aims for expressing what's true if not always explicitly autobiographical.
Nathan brings an invitational posture to his performances heavily influenced by his time serving as his church's music leader. He'll direct your attention deeper while making you feel welcome where you are. When he's not playing his own music, he rotates through several Celtic folk trios playing contra dances, fall festivals, and house parties.
